January PAPER Meeting

Edison modulars

This coming Sunday, January 10, we begin another year of PAPER meetings. By my hazy recollection, 2010 will be PAPER’s 15th year. Time flies when you are folding origami.

Our meeting this month will be at the Redmond public library from 1-4 pm. If you need information or directions to the library, click here.

I will teach two models. The first is a modular, shown in the photo, by Christine Edison. The unit is simple. The connection will take a few tries to get used to the maneuvering necessary to bring the ends of two units together.  The unit can be used to make a 30 unit dodecahedron or a 12 unit cube. In order to get ready for Valentines Day, I am looking for a heart-themed model to teach also.

Please remember to bring some paper to fold, since we can’t provide group paper anymore. The modular can be folded from 3 inch paper, though it can be tricky if you have large or clumsy fingers. 4-6 inch paper will be good for learning.

Hope to see you on Sunday.
